Tour One- The Olive Experience

Starts at 11;00 am Monday through Saturday. Minimum four people Approximately 90 Minutes
250 pesos per person

Enjoy a leisurely walk approximately of 45 minutes learning about the growing of olives in a sustainable organic environment and supplemented with light agriculture and farm animals.

After our walk we will return to the farm store for a description of the making of olive oil and the curing of olives. This includes a tasting of the Finca Luna Serena oils, olives and tapenade.

Finally, we will enjoy traditional Bruschetta. It is a tradition that after the pressing of olives, the producer immediately tastes his oil quality by toasting bread on an olive wood fire. This is accomplished by rubbing the bread with either garlic, tomato, or salt and smothering it the fresh olive oil. Gluten free bread provided with prior arrangement.

Finca Luna Serena is our farm just north of San Miguel de Allende and we invite you to visit us soon. Our farm is small in comparison to our neighbors but that gives us quiet, privacy and fresh air. The views out over the Bajio are beautiful – the only other way to get these views is from a hot air balloon! Wander amongst our fruit and olive trees. Play with the dogs. Feed the chickens and turkeys. Pet the horses and burro. Watch the sheep graze. (There’s not much you can do with sheep.) Get away from the noise and crowds of San Miguel and spend a few hours in the peace of the Mexican countryside.

Even if you can’t get away, you can still visit our shop in town. Who would expect to find an olive oil store inside one of the finest jewelry stores in San Miguel? We are located inside The Opal Mine at Hernandez Macias 99 between Pila Seca and Umaran (almost at Pila Seca.) There you will find a full selection of our delicious olive oils, olives, tapenade, vinegars and jellies. No fresh air, though!
