Pila Seca Prolongación
a homage
schedule
Pila Seca Prolongación

The ancient tree grows up in the middle of the road,
its wide trunk rising, curved and twisted
out of the irregular cobble stones.
Occasionally a car must wait
beneath its broad boughs
in the shade of its forty-foot height
for an oncoming vehicle to pass.
This is done with great patience and care,
never a sign upon its rugged, gray bark
of etiquette violated.

Up the road,
up the hill towards the center
there was a spring where animals drank,
cows and horses and dogs,
which after many years of faithful service
ran dry,
remembered now only in the name of the road,
Pila Seca, "Dry Spring".

As the town grew so did the road,
extending down to the tree, already old by that time,
widening around it when the rounded cobbles came.

In this hot, dry land trees are valued,
some yet-pagan influence breaking through catholic edifice,
life rooted in a deeper soil
standing in the way of the traffic.

Mary Jane Miller is organizing an 8 week directed group for prayer and and contemplation at St Paul's Anglican Church . The focus will be on Advent first and conclude with the Christmas season. We will ask what it means to come into the world, and the spiritual life which is activated as a result. Centering prayer, contemplative prayer and the prayer of quiet are all going to be explored in an effort to open ourselves to listening to God and remembering whose we are.
Beginning December1st and January 19th at St Paul's Church
The format will be simple, 20 minutes of quiet, 20 minutes of conversation, discussion observation, etc and finalize the time with another 20 minutes of quiet. 4 weeks in Advent and 4 weeks following Christmas, 50 pesos donation per session and there is no requirement you come to them all.
Every Thursdays 4 PM
IDEAS to be EXPLORED
Advent tells us Christ is near and
Christmas tells us Christ is here.

Christmas represents God's brilliant idea to become human and walk among us! Why do such a thing? Because we need an image of love for it to grow within us, to show us the way and to have a reference point for what is true, good and lasting love.
Come and prepare a place within yourself. Epiphany is the Christian celebration of what other religions call enlightenment. Enlightenment is the inward realization and consciousness of being identified with who we really are. We are individual expressions or manifestations of God, a wave of energy, light and purpose which flows through us.
"All great spirituality teaches about letting go of what you don't need and who you are not. Then, when you can get little enough and naked enough and poor enough, you'll find that the little place where you really are is ironically more than enough and is all that you need. At that place, you will have nothing to prove to anybody and nothing to protect.
All are welcome to share tier insights and experiences. Peace

What is Danzlibre/Que es Danzlibre?

Danzlibre is a voyage through music and your own spontaneous, authentic free-form movement and dance. Danzlibre is based on the transformational dance practices of Samantha Sweetwater’s Dancing Freedom. There is no set way for anyone to dance, and you can move as you please and the beat moves you. The practice is one of feeling yourself, finding yourself, and expressing yourself with movement (or stillness). There is a basic intention each time, to help us focus in common on a certain aspect of life, by way of a word or phrase to hold lightly in your head to get started and then to let go of it, to just be yourself, possibly as never before. If you have never danced in your life, and want to feel the freedom and joy of the union of body and mind in authentic expression to music, this is a perfect class for you. There is no way you can do it wrong!
